EOG Resources is ramping up activity in its Austin Chalk exploration programme after filing its first permit to test the play on newly acquired acreage in Louisiana under the name of a shell company.
Upstream sources linked the US tight oil specialist to the Eagle Ranch 14H well in Avoyelles Parish that is operated by Sentry Energy Services which is based in Opelousas, Louisiana.
