Statoil has itself refused to reveal the investment and operational costs for a unified electricity project with lower CO2 emissions from four fields: Johan Sverdrup, Ivar Aasen, Edvard Grieg and Gina Krogh.
The state player has only said that the abatement cost would be up to Nkr 1000 ($168.72) per tonne of CO2 not emitted if the fields on the Utsira Hugh area were to use electricity via a cable from shore instead of offshore gas turbines.
