The award this week of the Shikma Yam licence, in which AGR will hold a carried interest of 5%, gives the company a total of nine licences in which it holds operatorships with similar stakes, in partnership with Israeli players including the Pelagic group.
The Oslo-listed drilling services player is currently drilling the Aphrodite-2 exploration well using semi-submersible rig Noble Homer Ferrington in the Ishay licence – one of five in which it has Pelagic as partner – straddling the maritime border with Cyprus.
