DOF Subsea revealed this week that Aker Oilfield Services (AOS), which has been operating the Skandi Aker under a two-year charter with Total off Angola since last September, has now exercised its option to purchase the vessel for an undisclosed sum.
Aker Solutions, which already owns the vessel’s topsides with the hull owned by DOF Subsea, will carry out the acquisition of the vessel when its current charter expires in February 2015, according to a spokeswoman.
