The outright acquisition of SNGD will give the primarily oil-focused player two gas licences covering about 1323 square kilometres in Russia’s Tomsk region with estimated proven and probable reserves of 112 million barrels of oil equivalent.
Through the deal, Moscow-based Alliance will gain access to an early gas export opportunity to target the recovering domestic market, with gas production from the acreage due to start in the first half of 2013.
