Company owner and president Edward Heerema’spioneering project – named after his legendary father Pieter Schelte Heerema –is taking shape at the Okpo yard of South Korean fabricator Daewoo Shipbuilding& Marine Engineering. Keel laying took place in a floating drydock on 9August, when assembly of the portside hull of the massive catamaran commenced.
The starboard side hull will beassembled soon in another floating drydock, and the two sections will then bemoved to a fixed drydock at the Okpo facility for mating by the end of thisyear, according to Allseas public relations manager Jeroen Hagelstein.
