Under the agreement, Antero would provide 30,000 barrels per day of ethane to Ascent, or about half the needed volume required to operate the envisaged cracker.
The deal, for which financial terms were not disclosed, is contingent upon Ascent reaching a final investment decision, which is pending a multi-year feasibility analysis, Antero said.
Antero operates in a section of the Utica shale rich with natural gas liquids like ethane.
