The former 170,000 deadweight tonne tanker, known as the Monte Umbe, was converted at the Keppel shipyard in Singapore and has a 50,000 barrel per day production capacity and net storage capacity of 750,000 barrels.
ONGC chartered the newly converted FPSO under a seven year deal in August last year which will see the Sterling Armada stationed at the Indian company’s D1 field, about 200 kilmoetres off the coast Mumbai.
