ASL buys MEO's Batam yard

ASL will pay MEO US$20 million inexchange for the yard which is adjacent to its existing shipyard inBatam.

MEO's yard covers 12.2 hectares andincludes berthing and repair quays of 220 metres, two ship repair andlaunch-ways, as well as other shipyard facilities which cater forshipbuilding, vessels repair, modification and mobilisation, as wellas modular fabrication services.

ASL said its purchase of the yard wasin line with its strategy of strengthening and expanding itsshipbuilding and ship repair capability and capacity.
