In a letter to the Houston-based rig owner seen by Upstream, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR)’s Petroleum & Mines Authority took the “extraordinary step” of urging Atwood chief executive Rob Saltiel against any involvement in Kosmos’ upcoming campaign in the Aaiun basin.
Dallas-based Kosmos is set to use the newbuild ultra-deepwater drillship Atwood Achiever to drill the Gargaa-1 wildcat in the Cap Boujdour block.
