Last September, Bass signed a farm-in agreement with Malaysia’s Hirex Petroleum – a joint venture between Hibiscus Petroleum and Rex International – which was based on an assessment of prospectively.
The review failed to identify any drillable prospects resulting in Hirex pulling out of the agreement for Vic/P42.
Bass cancelled the exploration permit, with the cancellation formally approved by the National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator.
