The award to the Houston-based rig contractor follows the French giant’s final investment decision on the West Africa project, with Aker Solutions handed a contract on Monday to deliver the field’s subsea production system.
Bassdrill has bagged the rig prize following an earlier tender in which it was pre-qualified to design a modular drilling package to be used on a newbuild tension-leg wellhead platform to be deployed at Moho Nord in 2015.
