The Bungaloo-1 well was spudded on PEL 494 usingthe drilling rig Ensign rig 916 and will assess the potential of shales withinthe Casterton formation.
Cooper said the well was expected to bedrilled to a total depth of 3677 metres and collect over 100 metres ofconventional core.
It added the well would also assess the sandsof the Lower Sawpit which were found to be gas bearing in the recently drilledJolly-1 well, about 14 kilometres south-east of Bungaloo-1.
