The probe sunk on the Norwegian independent’s Erbil licence has struck an additional 210-metre oil column in the Najmeh reservoir that is set to boost gross in-place proven and probable resources at the find from 300 million barrels to an estimated 600 million to 700 million barrels, DNO said in a statement.
The well flowed between 800 and 1000 barrels per day of 12 to 16-API gravity oil from an open-hole test in the Lower Najmeh interval, having earlier confirmed movable oil from a similar test in the Bekhme formation.
