Researchfirm Douglas-Westwood predicts in a new report that deep-water spending willsurge to around $260 billion over the next five years, representing an increaseof 130% on the previous five-year period, on the back of continued robust oilprices.

It believesthe bulk of this outlay, or about $213 billion, will be absorbed by fieldprojects in Africa and the Americas as the two regions drive deep-water growthover the coming years.
