"We are hopeful that these five contracts will have already begun activities in the first months of 2014 in such a way that exploration activities will continue increasing," YBFB chief executive Carlos Villegas said.
The companies nabbed the block in the natural gas-rich country in a tender last 20 December, but financial details were not discosed. The offering also attracted competition including Statoil, Kogas, Ecopetrol and Tecpetrol Argentina.
