The vessel, said by numerous security sources to be called Utai 8, has not been heard from since around 09:00 local time on Thursday when it was some 30 miles south-southwest of Brass.
One security source said the vessel was en route to Port Harcourt with three people onboard when it went missing.
“Utai 8 has possibly been hijacked,” the source continued.
