“Yes,it probably does,” BP upstream head Lamar McKay said when askedabout possible layoffs in the onshore unit.
Upstreamunderstands some workforce reductions had already taken place insupport areas such as permitting but McKay said BP had not determinedwhat the appropriate staffing level might be for the new unit and howmany jobs might be cut to reach that figure.
“Weare working on that,” he said on the sidelines of the IHS Cera Weekconference in Houston.
