Petroecuador said on Sunday it was working with Peru authorities after a landslide ruptured the Trans-Ecuador pipeline, or Sote, on 31 May.

A statement from Brazil's foreign ministry said the nation was prepared to come to the aid of responders if necessary.

"Brazil has offered aid to Ecuador and Peru to support the work of containment and dispersion of the oil slick in the two countries," the agency said, adding that Ecuador's agency said the spill volume was around 6800 barrels and most remained in Ecuador.
