The country’s National Petroleum Agency (ANP) said its Special Bid Committee (CEL) had qualified its last batch of applicant companies, clearing supermajors Chevron and BP among others to compete in Brazil's first such event since 2008.
The count surpassed the 61 bidders that registered for the ANP's ninth round in 2007.
The event, to be held on 14 and 15 May, will include 289 blocks in 11 sedimentary basins covering over 155,000 square kilometres.
