Wood Mackenzie's vice president of exploration Andrew Latham said at APPEA 2014 that companies are progressively prioritising value over volume, which has led to a change in exploration focus. High discovery costs and the anticipation of declining returns are concerns for acreage holders.
Latham said: "We are seeing a trend of companies adjusting course, after several years focused on high-impact frontier exploration.
