The Toronto-listed outfit said the JV is poised to finalise a five-year contract with DS Servicios for one of the units and discussions are ongoing for the second.
Global Hunter Securities analysts said the deal may bode well for the Mexican rig market.
"Growth appears to be returning to the Mexican market with 1/3 of PSC contracts due in mid-2013," the firm said in a note.
