Central says it is the first production licence awarded onshore the Northern Territory since the passing of the Native Title act in 1993.
Managing director Richard Cottee said the Surprise facilities required for long-term production will be fully operational by the middle of March.
The company reached a deal with the Central Land Council (CLC) late last year which will see the company train and employ traditional landowners in the area.
