Paul Bennett, who also served as the Australia-focused company's president and as a director, tendered his resignation effective Tuesday.
Rodinia has been a sinking ship since at least 2012, when it engaged a financial advisor to help launch a strategic review that included a potential sale of the company, a joint venture or a merger, among other things.
The company said in June last year that the review had ended "without success".
