Cheniere Energy has agreed with Total to use the French giant’s storage and berthing capacity at the Sabine Pass LNG facility in a deal that could pave the way for a fifth liquefaction train at the facility.

In the near term, the move will save it from having to potentially build a sixth gas storage tank at a cost of about $200 million as it builds the planned four-train liquefaction facility with a capacity of up to 18 million tonnes per year (mtpa), spokesman Andrew Ware said.
