Neuquen governor Jorge Sapag, who presides over a state rich in the venerable Vaca Muerta shale formation, expects a long-awaited deal to be annouced on 16 June, he was quoted as saying on local radio, according to regional newspaper Manana Neuquen.
The address on Radio Nacional de San Martin de los Andes predicted the presence of Chevron chief John Watson.
A Chevron spokesman said the company's policy is not to comment on ongoing negotiations.
