The US supermajor on Monday said .76 gallons of crude leaked from a platform on Main Pass block 42, according to a filing with the US National Response Centre.
The company shut in a 10-inch low pressure line and blamed equipment failure for the release.
Production was restarted Wednesday according to a Chevron spokesman.
A sheen estimated at 20 feet by two miles was observed, according to the NRC.
