The two wildcats, Supremus-1 and Trion-1, may approach 2P reserves of approximately 300 million barrels, representing a "barely commercial" find, said Juan Carlos Zepeda Molina, president of Mexico's National Hydrocarbons Commission, or CNH.
"It's very likely Pemex will keep finding new fields," he told an audience in Houston at the Platts Mexican Energy conference.
The company announced the two finds earlier this year after failing to find oil at more than 20 attempts to find oil in deep water.
