The Humboldt Creek-2 exploration well was spudded on Friday, about 24 kilometres south-southeast of the Mira field pilot wells and about 245 kilometres west of Gladstone in central Queensland.
The well is being drilled to a planned total depth of 500 metres and will be cored through the reservoir section to further define the key coal parameters in the southern part of the Mahalo Block.
