The Mira-4 well was spudded on Thursday at the ATP 337P Mahalo Block, about 250 kilometres west of Gladstone in central Queensland.
The well is located about 500 metres south-west of the company’s first Mira well, Mira-3, and is expected to reach a total depth of about 310 metres.
This latest news follows Comet’s announcement on Wednesday that Mira-3 hit 8.8 metres of coal over four intervals in the Castor Pollux reservoir, with wireline testing indicating “good to excellent” coal productivity at the well site.
