Court dismisses claim against KMG EP

The 327.9 billion tenge ($1.8 billion)claim was launched against KMG EP offshoot Ozenmunaigas by the Department ofEcology of Mangystau Region in Kazakhstan in relation to the disposal ofcontaminated soil.

KMP EP had argued the disposal ofcontaminated soil resulted from past activities on the site and did not resultfrom activity by either it or Ozenmunaigas.

On Wednesday, KMG EP said the SpecializedAdministrative Court in Aktau declared the claim as illegitimate and it wasdismissed.
