Last year more than 79,000 development wells were sunkworldwide, according to a tally by UK-based energy business research &consulting firm Douglas Westwood, but by 2020 demand will have risen by 17%from 2013 levels.
DW chairman John Westwood said the task of unlockinghard-to-reach reserves would also necessitate more drilling.
