The Anglo-Dutch supermajor has already said the troubled drillship is headed to Asia for repairs, possibly a full engine replacement.
It was contracted with Shell to drill in the Chukchi Sea as part of its Arctic exploration plan in 2012, and completed tophole work before weather closed the drilling season.
It suffered multiple setbacks during that time, in addition to the inspection failures drifting uncomfortably close to shore after slipping mooring lines and seeing a small fire break out on board.
