The Norwegian independent has been awarded operatorship of Block 84 onshore Yemen by the Middle East country’s Ministry of Oil & Minerals, with the company to hold a 59.5% participating interest alongside Turkish partner Dogan Enerji on 25.5% and state-owned Yemen Oil & Gas on 15%.
DNO and its partners are required to acquire fresh 3D seismic and drill two exploration wells under the first exploration period on the 731 square-kilometre tract in the Masila-Seiyun basin that lies adjacent to Block 14 where more than 1 billion barrels of oil have been discovered.
