The probe struck oil shows in the Shuqra formation after being drilled to a total depth of 4147 metres in DNO-operated Block 32 and flowed at a rate of 5900 barrels per day of 356-degree API crude on testing, the company said.
The well, drilled at a cost of $10 million, perforated the formation over a 32-metre interval with the flow rate said to be above expectations by analyst Teodor Sveen Nilsen of Swedbank First Securities.
