The company is continuing exports from its Tawke field in the northern Iraqi region, having ramped up to more than 40,000 barrels per day at the weekend, after Kurdistan failed to impose a threatened export halt by a 15 September deadline.

It followed earlier media reports that the Baghdad administration had agreed to make payments to foreign oil companies working in the region for their output, despite the fact that it deems production  sharing deals they have signed with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) as illegal.
