Well partner Karoon Gas Australia said drilling operations had been suspended and the drilling rig the Transocean Legend evacuated due to Tropical Cyclone Narelle last week.

It added that as of Wednesday morning the rig had been re-manned and the well was preparing to drill ahead at 2918 metres.

It is the latest in a number of delays for ConocoPhillips' drilling campaign in the Greater Poseidon Area, with drilling only resuming earlier this month following repairs to the Transocean Legend’s blowout preventer.
