The UK supemajor does not, however, see aresumption of expansion operations at two key onshore Algerian plants untilnext year at the earliest, while Dudley described upstream opportunities inLibya as currently “in hibernation”.

Dudley addressed media and investors duringa presentation of the company’s latest financial result, which showed a drop infourth-quarter and full-year profit.

The BP boss said he expected FIDs to betaken on around five projects this year, but he would not be specific aboutwhat projects were on the company’s list – mentioning only the US, Africa andSouth Asia.
