The company is getting 20% of the Aurelialicence currently operated by Eni, E.ON said on Tuesday.
E.ON is assuming the stake from Eni, the latter understood to be holding on to 80%.
There are currently no drilling plans made for the licence with such plans and any targets to be the focus of a forthcoming work programme.
