The Dolphin Drilling-owned unit will spud the 6507/5-7 well on the Terne prospect in production licence 558 in the Norwegian Sea after the operator was handed a drilling permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.
The rig will drill in 404 metres of water in Block 6507/5, about 10 kilometres east of BP’s Skarv field in the Halten terrace area.
Drilling is estimated to take around 45 days.
