The Venus-2 well had average crude production of 630 barrels per day of crude, the Colombian state-led firm.
The oil was 17 degrees API and the water cut 39%.
The probe was made in the CPO-11 block in the San Martin municipality.
Ecopetrol has a 100% interest in the project and exploration is ongoing, the company said.
