The first contract was awarded by Norwegiangiant Statoil which will see EDA provide drilling services for up to five wellsin the Northern Territory’s South Georgina basin over a period of six-to-ninemonths.
Statoil operates four exploration permitsin the South Georgina basin where it is currently evaluating shale prospectsalong with joint venture partners PetroFrontier and Baraka Energy &Resources.
EDA was also handed two contracts by fellow Australian companySenex Energy to be used in the latter’s multi-well drilling programme in theSouth Australian Cooper basin.
