Shale had agreed in May to purchase the assets for almost £10.1 million ($15.8 million) through the acquisition of Eden’s wholly-owned subsidiary Adamo Energy.
The sale included Eden’s 50% stake in 17 licences in England and south Wales, plus three 100%-owned licences in south Wales.
Eden said on Monday that a delay had occurred in the satisfaction by Shale of one of the conditions precedent under its agreed contract.
