The AIM-listed explorer said that ERC Equipoise had reviewed the undiscovered gas initially in place in seven of its licences where the potential for shale gas exists within the Carboniferous age Bowland-Hodder sequence.
The Bowland-Hodder shale made headlines last year when the British Geological Survey estimated the play could hold as much as 1329 tcf of gas.
ERCE’s analysis reported estimated mean GIIP of around 18 tcf net to Egdon on its acreage, with a range of 8 tcf to 31 tcf.
