TPG will establish a new oil and gas outfit to take over the field in Sublette County, which has 1500 producing wells and had proven gas reserves at the end of last year of about 1493 billion cubic feet equivalent.
Encana chief executive Doug Suttles said the divestment would “unlock value from a mature, high-quality asset” as the company redirects resources to growth areas, including drilling for more lucrative oil and natural gas liquids.
