Energy XXI, which has built its business strategy in coaxing new production from ageing US Gulf fields, said it would take a 100% working interest on West Delta Block 32, which covers 1625 net acres and four platforms.
The independent has filed to be the new operator and plans to restart production in the first quarter at the field, which was producing about 250 barrels of oil equivalent per day before the November 2012 incident.
