Europarevealed on Monday that the permit, where it holds a 100% interest,had been extended until 18 January next year.
Thepermit area contains several oil accumulations that were previouslylicensed by Elf but were abandoned in 1985 due to a combination oftechnical issues and low oil prices.
Europanoted the permit contained two fields, Jacque and Osmets, whichgenerated “modest” production levels when they were originallydrilled.
