The Nigerian Navy seized control of the ex-standby/rescuevessel Myre Seadiver on Friday at the port of Lagos, claiming it had illegal armsand ammunition onboard.
The ex-Stril Tender, which is was bought in January fromNorwegian offshore vessel owner Simon Mokster by St Petersburg-based privatesecurity firm Moran Security Group, arrived in Lagos almost a month ago.
Moran executive Alexei Maximov told Upstream that, beforeentering Nigeria’s economic zone, it had been given all the necessary clearanceby the port agent with regards to crew, the vessel and weapons onboard.
