The US supermajor’s unconventional subsidiary XTO drilled the ExxonMobil 2H-1 in Morehouse Parish late last year and then paused as it evaluated the results.
Originally permitted as a horizontal well with a proposed vertical depth of 8000 feet and a 5000-foot lateral, XTO drilled the vertical section to 7483 feet and stopped without drilling the lateral.
What ExxonMobil may have found at the well is a bit of a mystery.
