The charter contract will see Ezion supply a service rig under a five year deal, worth about $201 million, that will be deployed in the Garagel-Deniz, Deyarbekir and Magtymguly fields by the fourth quarter of next year following its refurbishment and upgrading.
Ezion did not name the client in Tuesday’s announcement, saying only that it was a South East Asian-based national oil company, however Malaysian state-run company Petronas operates Block 1, in Turkmenistan’s sector of the Caspian Sea, where the three fields are located.
